A dental technician may work for a laboratory that makes complete sets of dentures for people who may have lost all of their teeth, partial dentures that may replace a few missing teeth, permanent bridge that fills in missing teeth between two intact teeth, crowns that restore the original shape of a tooth after it has been damaged, and veneers that cover teeth for cosmetic reasons. Dental technicians may not need a four year college degree but they may have a two year associates degree or a certificate from a school.
